Terms & Agreements
Student enrollment, refunds, attendance, and rescheduling policies.
1. Enrollment and registration
By registering for training, students acknowledge the applicable course, scheduled date, tuition, and these policies. Students must provide accurate registration details and meet applicable training requirements.
2. Refund policy
For courses governed by New York regulation 9 NYCRR § 6028.7, the following limits apply:
- Before instruction begins: A student who withdraws is entitled to a full refund of covered course fees.
- After instruction begins: The school may retain fees only to the extent allowed by the regulation for that course and its instructional format.
- Courses divided into sessions: Required partial refunds apply for eligible withdrawals between sessions (for example, 50% for a qualifying two-session course after the first session but before the second begins). Other approved schedules are governed by the applicable proportional refund rules.
- School-caused problems: If a student cannot attend or successfully complete training because of qualifying undisclosed defects in the school's business practices, all covered fees must be refunded as required by the regulation.
No nonrefundable registration fee, cancellation fee, or deposit will be imposed on covered security guard training contrary to applicable DCJS requirements. Refund rules for other courses and optional services are disclosed separately where applicable.
3. Rescheduling
Students may request one complimentary reschedule before their scheduled class begins, subject to available seats. Requests must be submitted in writing. Additional changes require approval; any applicable charge must be disclosed in advance and comply with law. Rescheduling does not waive statutory refund rights.
4. Attendance and course completion
Students must attend and complete the required instructional hours and course requirements. A missed session may mean the reserved seat is forfeited and another date must be arranged; applicable statutory refund rights are preserved. Payment does not guarantee certification, registration, or passing an external exam.
5. School cancellations or schedule changes
If SOA cancels a class, it will offer an alternative available date or provide the refund required by applicable law. Material changes will be communicated using the contact details submitted during registration.
6. Written requests and acknowledgment
Send refund or rescheduling requests to soastc4@gmail.com, including your name, course, scheduled date, and requested action.
At checkout, students will be asked to affirm they have reviewed and agree to these Terms & Agreements. Nothing here waives rights provided by New York law.
